Abby's been training at Capital Strength almost a year. She has lost over 20lbs of fat since starting her journey. And she's just getting started with her goals...


What were you most skeptical about before training at Capital Strength?

"I was most skeptical about whether personal training would be worth the price tag/investment. I really didn't know if it would work for me so that made me a little hesitant."

What was life like before training? What struggles did you have? 

"I have always been relatively active, working out at boutique gyms for the past 15 years. Before CSC, I worked at HIIT gym about four times a week (plus some running here and there). My main goal was to increase my strength, and while I did that for some time at that gym, it plateaued for several years. I struggled to move up in weight for moves I had been performing for years despite working out regularly, I couldn't do an unassisted pull-up.


I became frustrated with my lack of progress and wanted to focus on body recomposition - but I knew I wouldn't achieve this unless I changed my workout routine and nutrition. Personal training is something I was always interested in, but I talked myself out of it due to cost. This time, I decided to bite the bullet and try it - and I am so glad I did! It has been one of the best decisions I have ever made."

What specific results have you achieved?

"I've lost 20 pounds (while simultaneously gaining muscle) and 4 inches off my waist, 4.25 inches off my hips, and 3 inches off my thighs."

What's been the biggest impact that Capital Strength has had?

"In the 6 months I have been training with Eli, I’ve lost 20 pounds, and my strength has significantly increased. Not only have I reached strength milestones such as deadlifting over 200 pounds and unassisted pull-ups, but I have also seen aesthetic changes I never thought possible! For the first time, I can see the definition in my abs. I am by far the healthiest and strongest I have ever been. I look better in my mid-thirties than I did in my early 20s."

What have other people noticed or said about you that’s changed?

"People have commented that I look happier, stronger, and healthier! I got married in October, and my dress had a low back - one male guest commented that I made him want to start going to the gym again!"

What’s your favorite thing or biggest surprise about Capital Strength?

"I love that my workouts are tailored towards my skill set and goals! Every workout is challenging AND fun, and everyone at CSC is friendly and encouraging."

To anyone on the fence about Strength Training, what would you tell them?

"Commit to giving CSC a solid effort for a minimum of 3 months. If you don't like, at least you gave it a shot. But I have a feeling at 3 months in, you'll only just be getting started and will be hooked for life!"
